A Very Simple Vegan Profiterole…

Vegan Profiteroles!

You are definitely going to want to save this recipe. Relatively simple to put together and a tasty little treat to serve up at your next party.

INGREDIENTS

Vegan Friendly Profiteroles

  • 1/2 cup soy milk

  • 5 tbsp nuttelex

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup icing sugar

  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

  • Optional: Sugar for sugar string and plant cream

METHOD

  • In a small saucepan on a low heat, add soy milk and butter. Constantly whisking until butter has melted

  • In a large mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt and icing sugar. Stir together and then add in wet mixture. Mix together until a slightly wet dough forms

  • Lightly flour your hands and bench and pull off dough (about 1 tbsp sized) and roll into balls

  • In a large saucepan, put in enough vegetable oil so your dough balls will float - this will vary depending on your pot, but about 5 cups. Heat oil on medium for a few minutes - it'll reach ideal temperature when you fry a little bit of bread and it goes brown and floats to the top

  • Gently lay dough balls into the oil using a spatula. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, until golden brown

  • Transfer the balls onto some paper towel to soak up any excess oil

  • Optional: Heat a 1/2 cup of sugar in a saucepan on a low heat to create the sugar string and cut profiteroles in half to spoon on plant cream
