The Best Vegan Markets in Australia

Veganism has grown in popularity over the last few years in Australia, so it is fantastic to see the growing trend of vegan markets popping up all over Australia.

Markets are fantastic as it showcases some truly amazing vegan friendly products from equally amazing vegan companies - it is also such a nice vibe to be surrounded by like-minded people.

The Big Vegan Market (Melbourne):

The Big Vegan Market in Melbourne is always a super popular event for Melbourne vegans.

It is held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton and is generally spread over two days over the Mother’s Day weekend in May.

The Big Vegan Market plays hosts to a variety of stall holders showing off vegan friendly apparel, jewellery, pantry essentials and, oh boy, ALL THE FOOD!

The vegan food is definitely the highlight for many attendees.

Sydney Vegan Market:

Unlike Melbourne, Sydney actually has a MONTHLY vegan market that is held at Sydney Olympic Park.

Markets are generally held on the third Sunday of every month, and even often host night markets in the warmer months.

The event is popular with locals, with a bunch of popular vegan brands having stalls each month, including businesses such as YAY FOODS and OMG Donuts.

Also to kick off that real market vibe, the Sydney Vegan Markets also have LIVE music and wellness demonstrations throughout the day, and even a bunch of interactive kids activities - truly making this market a market for everyone!

Queensland Vegan Markets:

And to top off both Melbourne & Sydney, Queensland have these vegan markets down to a tee with literally a vegan market held at least every 1-2 weeks - truly making Queensland a popular destination for vegans.

These markets showcase some incredible vegan items from local business, including some of the best vegan food the country has to offer.

Regular stall holders include Grassfed Vegan and Izakaya Midori.

Vegan Market of Melbourne:

Melbourne’s second Vegan Market of choice is the Vegan Market of Melbourne.

It had a run of monthly vegan markets held at the Queen Victoria Market for a while, and prior to that at St. Kilda Esplanade.

At this stage (as of writing in 2022) they are trying to secure a regular location for Melbourne vegans to enjoy a monthly market.

Until then, they are still dedicated in having vegan markets throughout the year, including a Federation Square take over in September (2022) that’ll include a variety of stalls showcasing amazing vegan products from local businesses.
