Sable Richmond - Vegan Melbourne Eatery

Melbourne Australia is a top tier location for vegan eateries, with an abundance of vegan friendly cafes and restaurants scattered throughout this foodie state - no matter where you’re travelling to in Melbourne, you’re bound to find an incredible vegan restaurant in Melbourne.

Situated in the inner-city of Richmond, you can find this epic vegan eatery Sable Richmond that offers an expansive menu of coffee, bagels and cookies - all vegan, of course.

Sable Richmond is actually located in the small inner-city suburb of Cremorne, which is essentially Richmond to be honest. Their website and Instagram calls it Sable Richmond, so that’s what I’m sticking with!

Sable Richmond is tucked away in a small alley off Swan Street, and can be easier to miss if you don’t know about it.

The cafe is relatively small, but offers outdoor seating, indoor bench seating and about 25 seats in total.

Sable Richmond offers a truly epic, completely vegan, bagel menu that may just change your opinion on the humble bagel.

When I say their bagels are epic, I truly mean it! They are loaded to the brim, and have flavour combinations that you wouldn’t ever think off. Popular items include:

  • Hangover Cure (sausage patty, egg, garlic & onion cream cheese, tomato, cheddar, aioli, bbq sauce)

  • Marilyn (bacon, egg, mozzarella, herb cream cheese, bbq sauce)

  • Jermaine (bacon, tomato, cos lettuce, garlic aioli)

Sable Richmond provide a variety of bagel options regardless of the time of the day - more breakfast styled, or even more lunchy!

Sable Richmond does a fantastic job of loading up your bagel with a variety of filling options, which is definitely a two-handed job.

While the vegan bagels are tasty and epic at Sable Richmond, their selection of sweet and large vegan cookies need to be tried as well.

They bake their vegan cookies daily, with a variety of delicious cookie options available including choc chip and biscoff - you definitely can’t leave without one or a dozen of these.

Sable Richmond has been around for a few years now, and is quite popular in the vegan scene in Melbourne. The popularity of Sable Richmond has helped the owners to open a second location, Sable Thornbury.

Sable Thornbury has a similar day-time menu as Sable Richmond, but at night, the Thornbury location flips into a dinner restaurant that offerings epic vegan items such as pizzas, pastas and even their popular dessert option - cookie skillets!

If you are looking for one of the most popular vegan eateries in Melbourne, then Sable Richmond needs to be top on your list.

It’s open daily from 8am - 3pm and is located right near the East Richmond train station.

If you are looking for a great Melbourne vegan cafe option, then this particular inner-city location should be high on your list of must visits. It’s easy to get to, and the food is unique and delicious.
