NEW Accidentally Vegan Chips Australia

It is often hard for new vegans, or even seasoned vegans, to filter through all of the ingredients to understand what is in fact vegan friendly.

There’s a lot of accidentally vegan chips lists out on the internet, but these are often quite dated and not informative to let Australian’s know what recent releases are actually available now. You could have been missing out on some absolutely delicious items for YEARS!

So if you’ve ever asked yourself “what chips are vegan Australia” then here’s a list of some of the more recent releases in the chip market that are accidentally friendly and are super delicious also!

TWISTIES PERI PERI

These are not like your traditional Twisties, but still pack a flavour hit that is certainly welcomed. With a slight peri peri taste it is something that will get the tastebuds tingling.

These are available in Woolworths for $3.00 or in 7 Eleven convenient stores for $3.50.

Unfortunately, these are a limited release, but there is some reassurance as these often hit stores every couple of years.

PRINGLES VEGGIE CREATIONS (Potato, Orange Sweet Potato, Paprika & Garlic and Potato, Purple Sweet Potato & Sea Salt)

New Project.jpg

Talk about a delicious flavour combo! Two of the three NEW Pringles Veggie Creations are in fact vegan friendly.

The new flavours are creative and delicious, with the paprika & garlic being my personal favourite - who doesn’t like paprika!?

What’s actually very helpful also with these new items, Pringles have also clearly labelled on the back of the packet a big old tick of vegan approval to make it much easier for vegans to identify at the shops.

Other vegan friendly Pringle flavours includes:

  • Pringles Original

  • Pringles Salt & Vinegar

  • Pringles Chicken Satay

  • Pringles BBQ

  • Pringles BBQ Pulled Beef

The new Veggie Creations range is available in most leading supermarkets and will set you back about $4.00

Smith’s Oven Baked (Sea Salt & Smoky BBQ)

New Project (1).jpg

Smith’s dropped some new chips recently, and they are advertising that they are 50% less fat than regular chips.

The Smith’s Oven Baked Smoky BBQ and Sea Salt range are both accidentally vegan friendly.

They are a much lighter cheaper than traditional Smith’s chips, but both boast some incredible flavours - especially those Smoky BBQ chips.

The new range comes in a variety of packet sizes, including a massive 5 x 26g box that is perfect for kid’s lunch boxes. The regular 130g size will set you back $3.50, but are often on special for $2.50

There is however some caution for vegans on these products. Smith’s policy on disclosing ‘MAY CONTAIN’ is a little different than other brands and on the back of these they will say ‘CONTAINS’. This is merely a precaution as the facilities used to manufactured these products are shared with products that contain dairy and other allergens ingredients.

So useless you are personally intolerant to these ingredients, these are safe for vegans and are classed as accidentally vegan friendly.

SUNRICE Brown Rice Chips

Now I present the true hidden gem on this lot - Sunrice Brown Rice Chips!

The entire range is honestly so delicious, and has some incredible flavours - Sea Salt, Smokehouse BBQ & Paprika and Wild Rice

The BBQ flavoured chips are definitely a front-runner, but all of these are well worth it. They are available at Woolworths for $5.00 each, but are often on special for $3.00.

They aren’t generally found with your other chips in supermarkets, but are chucked away in the Health Food Aisle.

They are gluten free, vegan friendly and, most importantly, very delicious! They are like a tortilla chip, but honestly boast some truly perfect flavour combinations
