ALLEN’S LOLLIES VEGAN OPTIONS:

If you weren’t aware, Allen’s has a couple vegan lollies available these days and they are both available at Big W!!

The Allen’s Jubees and Allen’s Jelly Beans both come with an easy to identify ‘vegan friendly’ label on the packet now, which, as vegans would be well aware of, makes life SO MUCH EASIER when at the shops especially when looking for vegan lollies in Big W.

These vegan lollies from Allen’s are re-living a lot of people’s childhood favourites, and are identical to what you would remember of these classic lollies.

It is really encouraging to see Allen’s making it a bit more accessible these days for vegans to find suitable and delicious lollies at the shops, and hopefully this is a trend that Allen’s continues with making other lollies in their range vegan friendly.

Skittles Giants:

Vegans in Australia have always looked out for Skittles as their go-to vegan lolly of choice. Unfortunately, Skittles in Australia are not completely vegan.

A manufacturing choice for Skittles in Australia means that they use shellac as an ingredient, which is used to provide a glossy coating and serves to prevent them from drying out by forming a moisture-impermeable layer. Shellac is derived from the secretions of the lac insect.

Thankfully, Skittle Giants are vegan in Australia, making it the only Skittles vegan in Australia that is vegan.
