Accidentally Vegan Items Australia

One of the biggest issues when first going vegan is understanding what is actually vegan friendly in the supermarkets! It can be terribly confusing when reading ingredient lists, but hopefully this list will help you find a handful of new vegan friendly items that can now be found in Australia.

Be sure to check out my other accidentally vegan blogs here

DOLLAR SWEETS RASPBERRY & LEMON BAKING FILLING:

Here’s one for the bakers out there!

Dollar Sweets have made making delicious-filled donuts and tarts soooo much easier with these two items.

What is also fantastic with a lot of other Dollar Sweets items on the market (including these) is that they clearly state ‘Vegan Friendly’ on the tub!

Available at Woolworths for $5 per tub (or $2 on special)

SHAPES MINI BITES - SALT AND VINEGAR:

We all know that the Barbeque Shapes are vegan friendly, and are a popular snack item at many vegan gatherings, but did you know about these new Shapes Mini Bites?

Arnott’s has recently released a range of Mini Bites that are puffed up little bites that are FULL of flavour, and for us vegans that is salt and vinegar flavour!

Salt and vinegar items are normally a no-go for vegans, since most other alternatives have added dairy - but not these! This will be your next best snack

Available at supermarkets for $3.20 (or $2.50 on special)

RITZ CRACKER BITES CLASSIC & SWEET CHILLI:

Ritz have been a classic favourite on many platters - lightly salted and crunchy!

Ritz has released the all-new Ritz Cracker Bites and the Classic and Sweet Chilli flavours are both vegan friendly.

These are a thinner cracker, but honestly packs some seriously flavour - the classic is lightly salted and the sweet chilli has some amazing flavours!

Available at supermarkets for $4 (or on special for $2.50)

GOLDEN PANCAKES & PIKELETS:

Here’s an exciting new Accidentally Vegan item for Australians - the Golden Pancakes & Pikelets!

Yes, that’s right. Golden has recently changed the ingredients for these two items so that they are now vegan friendly.

The old recipe included both dairy and egg, but Golden have opted to take these two ingredients out and it’s a welcomed decision from vegans in Australia.

What is also potentially exciting is that the Golden Pancakes are the same pancakes that Hungry Jacks uses for their breakfast menu.

Unfortunately, Golden have slowly been phasing out their old recipe, so some packets labelled with ‘Made with Dairy and Eggs’ are still circulating supermarkets, so be sure to check your packet before you purchase (this is clearly labelled on the front of the packet for you to easily identify)

The pancakes come in a 6 pack for $3.50

&

The pikelets come in a 8 pack for $3.99

*All of these were vegan friendly at the time of publishing this article. Please be mindful that companies often change ingredients from time to time, so please make sure you double check before purchasing. If you have any accidentally vegan suggestion please get in contact
